stefanie. sitting. in. ball. chair.

Someone named Ryan Peterson wrote in, said his girlfriend was a fan, and asked me to post her pic in the Ball Chair she'd recently bought. Here you go Ryan and Stefanie. And as we all already know: "A Ball Chair is a 'room within a room' with a cozy and calm atmosphere, protecting outside noises and giving a private space for relaxing or having a phone call. Turning around its own axis on the base the view to the outer space is variable for the user and thus he is not completely excluded from world outside." Designed be Eero Aarnio of course.

richard. III.

Wow, check out th amazing Richard III chair from Baleri-Italia. They call it "the very essence of stereotypical middle-class decor, the object as a mask, a technological jack-in-the-box." I don't know what any of that means, but I'm giving that chair some hardcore mind loving right now. Created by Philippe Starck (or course) in 1985.

corner. lamp.

The Corner Lamp from Design House is a great solution if you have a room that needs some illumination and where space is at a premium. I have quite a few semi-useless corners that a light like this would not only make incrediblly useful but also pretty stylish. And at $225 it's pretty reasonable. The only down side is the shade is plastic, which might not work for some people, but I guess that's the price you have to pay for corner-dom.

cubits.

Cubits are the next generation of the semi-famous Cubitec shelving system developed by Doron Lachisch. DWR's unflattering definition of the shelving system says "...combines the exceptional strength and stability of injection-molded polypropylene with simple, modular design." Mine is, really cool semi-transparent plastic shelves that would go equally well in a high-tech garage or in some Internet start-up's lavish modern offices. And just maybe in your house, if you have the right decor. They come in some semi-complicated kit system with associated pricing that you can see if you follow the link. They also come with solid backs and door fronts in case you need any or all parts of your shelving system enclosed.
